Paris / Grenoble, November 24th 2021 – Leading multi-stage deeptech investor Supernova Invest is pleased to announce the start of its late stage fund with €145m. Raised from Groupe Crédit Agricole, CEA, institutionnal investors, industrials and family offices, the fund positions Supernova Invest as the pan-European leading investor in breakthrough-led companies coming from applied research with a substantial industrial focus.

Deeptech to lead impactful technological and industrial revolution

Tibi-approved « Industry Ambition » fund is targeting to invest between 15 to 20 deeptech startups in commercial and industrial hypergrowth stage, that are position on mass/value markets and aiming at becoming worldwide leaders in healthcare, energy and agricultural transition, digital technologies, and industry 4.0 sectors.

Investment operations will be €8 to €30m on financing needs ranging from €20 to €200 m.  The team has started to deploy the fund through two significant investments in French major deeptech companies: Ynsect (world leader in natural insect protein production – €8m) and Aledia (microLED display technologies – €10m). Supernova Invest’s current portfolio includes 73 deeptech startups, of which nearly a third are scale-ups in hyper-growth stage, and 6 are part of the Next 40/French Tech 120 indexes (Afyren, Aledia, Microphyt, Keranova, Robocath, Ynsect).

Building the best-in-class European deeptech team

With « Industry Ambition », the team of fifteen investors located in Paris and Grenoble also intends to first-time deploy funds in Europe, in countries where deeptech sectors are well structured (Germany, UK, Belgium, Switzerland, Nordic countries). The team has recently been strengthened with senior profiles used to late stage investments: Etienne Moreau (Partner, digital technologies), David Hansen (Investment Director, energy transition) and Rémi Spagnol (Investment Director, healthcare).
